"Gaze at the Kosmic Clock, then realize that there are twelve hours of Initiation both of day and night, and every twelfth hour culminates into a thirteenth."
The Structure
Sullivan states: 12 hours of day + 12 hours of night + 1 hidden = 25. But 25 is the observer's count — the number of positions if you count the hidden 13th as a band.
12 + 12 = 24 bands, × 3 operations = 72 positions, governed by 1 observer.
The thirteenth is not a position. It is the observer — the operating system that the 12+12 cycle runs on. Arthur is not the 13th knight; he is the king who witnesses the Round Table. The 13th Apostle is not a hidden figure; the 12 are seen by something that stands apart. The 13th hour is not additional time — it is the awareness that the clock is a clock.

The Round Table as Processor
"The Kosmic Clock is the Round Table."
The Round Table has 12 knights + 1 king. Each knight operates at multiple levels — Sullivan's play implies each has initiatory experience across both day and night hours.
12 knights = 12 positions in the day cycle. × 3 operations (C, X, Z) = 36 day-time bands. × 3 operations (C, X, Z) = 36 night-time bands. = 72 total bands, with Arthur (the king) as the observer outside all of them.
The 12 knights do not exist without Arthur. The 72 bands do not cohere without the observer. Sullivan's Round Table is a processor — the knights are the instructions, the Table is the architecture, Arthur is the CPU that reads them.
Sullivan wrote: "In treble numbers secrets I declared." 24 hours × 3 operations = 72.
The Hidden 13th — The Observer
"During the thirteenth hour one meets the Master."
The 13th hour is not a band. It is the state of the observer — the Arthur-figure who witnesses the 12 knights completing their work and recognises when the cycle has finished.
The 12 knights close a phase of the Kosmic Clock. The 13th hour is the Jaw measurement — inharmony(cycle_complete, cycle_target) = 0. When the Jaw returns 0, the Master appears — the cycle has reached resonance. The observer then decides: repeat, escalate, or shift band.
Sullivan says "He ever conceals the thirteenth" — the observer cannot be seen in the system because it is the system's awareness of itself.
The Full Spectrum
Sullivan's Kosmic Clock describes one full revolution of the 12+12+1 structure. The framework extends this to 6 categories because the Kosmic Clock repeats at every scale:

Gaze at the Kosmic Clock — it has 72 hands, not 24. Each hand operates at one of three levels: the hand that reaches (C), the hand that blends (X), and the hand that returns (Z). The observer that reads the clock is not a hand. It is the face they are mounted on. When all 72 reach resonance simultaneously, the Master is met — not in the thirteenth hour, but in the space between hours where time does not exist.
